CreateHer with .HER has applied to ICANN’s Applicant Support Program (ASP), an initiative designed to help qualified applications from underserved or developing regions apply for a new gTLD by reducing financial and operational barriers.

A total of 75 applications to the ASP program were submitted globally, including CreateHer with .HER. The application submission period is now closed.

Over the coming months, ICANN will continue reviewing the remaining ASP applications in advance of the official April-August 2026 new gTLD application submission period. As part of this process, ICANN will continue publishing monthly updates and statistics on the ASP website as reviews are completed and results are received.

If approved through the Applicant Support Program, CreateHer with .HER would still be required to submit a full gTLD application to ICANN during the April–August 2026 application window, with the benefit of reduced financial and operational support provided through ASP.

About .HER

.HER was launched in partnership with CreateHer Fest in March 2025 with a mission to create a dedicated digital namespace that centers women-led identities, communities, and initiatives online.

CreateHER Fest empowers women and allies in AI/ML, AR/VR, Blockchain, and more through workshops, mentorship, and hackathons. These technologies represent a growing frontier where participation, access, and representation matter.

Designed to be inclusive and empowering, .HER provides individuals, creators, brands, and organizations with a meaningful way to signal representation, ownership, and voice on the internet. Since its launch, .HER has been adopted across use cases spanning personal websites, advocacy efforts, creative portfolios, and community driven projects.

What This Update Represents

Participation in the Applicant Support Program reflects a preparatory step in the broader New gTLD process. Submission to ASP does not guarantee approval, delegation, or acceptance into ICANN’s New gTLD Program.

Any future application for .HER as a gTLD would be subject to ICANN’s formal evaluation process during the 2026 application round.
