How to buy .eth domains on Unstoppable: the One-Stop-Shop for Web3 Domains

We’re excited to announce that we’ve added Ethereum Name Service (ENS)-based .eth domains to the Unstoppable Domains website – creating a one-stop shop for Web3 domains. For the first time, we’re bringing you a single platform to buy .eth, .nft, .crypto, .polygon domains and more. 

Now, anyone can natively buy .eth domains through Unstoppable, with new features that will help bring a new audience to .eth. Every .eth domain purchased from Unstoppable will be registered through the ENS smart contract with the same full functionality as other .eth domains – no naming collisions here. 

Our goal is to expand the overall Web3 community as the single one-stop shop for Web3 domains by supporting the most important naming systems and blockchains in Web3, starting with .eth.

In addition to bringing you a one-stop shop for Web3 domains, we’re introducing new functionality that makes buying .eth domains easier and more seamless. 

Secure your .eth domain in a vault

You now have the option to secure your .eth or other Web3 domain in a vault managed by Unstoppable. Now, you can buy a .eth domain without having to immediately connect it to a crypto wallet, and enjoy the additional security of keeping your Web3 domains separate from your other crypto assets. Domains held in a vault are fully owned by you, not Unstoppable, and can be transferred to a self-custodial wallet at any time. 

Set up auto-renewal for your .eth domain

ENS-based Web3 domains require annual renewal fees. To alleviate the pain point of remembering to renew on-chain with Ethereum and to prevent you from accidentally losing your .eth domain, we’re offering an optional auto-renewal feature for .eth. 

Auto-renewal will cost $4 per renewal period, and you’re in control of whether you want to renew your .eth domain for a few months or a couple years. Auto-renewal with Unstoppable adds peace of mind that your domain is yours as long as you want to hold it.

We want to make buying Web3 domains as easy as checking out on any website. You’ll be able to buy .eth domains with credit cards through Stripe, PayPal, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, as well as Bitcoin or 11 other cryptocurrencies – including Ethereum.

Same ENS functionality 

You’ll be able to manage records, transfer domains, use ENS integrations, and even pay renewal fees directly through ENS if you prefer. Pricing for .eth domains on Unstoppable is the same as with the ENS website, including Ethereum network fees for gas, with the option to add on services like Unstoppable Parking and auto-renewal. (Reminder – no collisions either!) 

Heads up –  if you buy an .eth domain through Unstoppable, you’ll be able to use all ENS integrations. However, at launch, .eth domains purchased through Unstoppable will not function with Unstoppable’s more than 860 integrations. 

Minted on Ethereum

All .eth domains purchased through Unstoppable will be minted on the Ethereum blockchain and incur Ethereum blockchain fees. With the addition of .eth, we’re happy to offer Unstoppable customers more options and flexibility for their Web3 domains. 

Unstoppable domains, including .nft, .crypto, .x and .polygon, will be minted on Polygon, allowing you to buy and manage your domains with no gas fees.

In the coming months, Unstoppable will introduce the ability to manage .eth domains within the Unstoppable experience, including setting crypto addresses, managing on-chain profile data, and transferring your .eth domain. 

Additionally, we will extend our patent non-assertion pledge and all other rights enjoyed by Web3 Domain Alliance members to .eth. In February, we publicly pledged not to assert against Alliance members our patents that are necessary to adopt the Alliance’s interoperability and security standards.
